The nice thing about these services is that they provide information on a wide range of opportunities, including some that require you to write essays and others that just need you to apply.
Keep in mind that you should not pay for any service like this one. Those services are generally scams.
Don’t Forget the Local Angle
Some students get so caught up in their search for national scholarships that they forget ones located more close to home. Many companies and institutions in a community will offer scholarships to deserving students based in the area or related to employees or pursuing a related field of study. For example, some local broadcasting stations offer scholarships to outstanding journalism students.
You can also get in touch with the education department of your state to see if any scholarships are available at the state level. Most states do offer some.
Remember that your competition is likely to be less for local scholarships than national ones so your odds of winning are going to be much higher.

When you are developing a scholarship strategy, don’t forget that applying takes time. You may also need time to get recommendation letters from teachers and transcripts from your school. Consider investing in a calendar and adding the deadlines for the potential scholarships to it so you can better organize your time and ensure you get your information in on time.
