Rhode Island Job Outlook
Rhode Island, as a very small state, is home to only a few colleges and universities. Within these schools, though, there is much diversity. Rhode Island’s two public institutions are Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island, and its community college, which operates out of six locations, is the Community College of Rhode Island. There are also a number of private institutions, including, among others, the famous Ivy League school Brown University.
Rhode Island’s relatively healthy economy is comprised of many important industries, and many college graduates can expect to enter a career in either finance, insurance, or real estate, as these are the state’s leading industries. Fishing is also important, especially fishing for mollusks and shellfish, such as lobster.
