Tennessee Job Outlook

Tennessee has a great many post-secondary educational opportunities. The state is home to two separate public university systems, the University of Tennessee System and the Tennessee Board of Regents system. The flagship institution of the University of Tennessee System is the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK). UTK is the largest institute of higher learning in Tennessee, and it is also one of the oldest universities in the country, having been founded before the state of Tennessee itself.

Tennessee is also home to literally dozens of private colleges and universities and community colleges. Some of these schools advertise religious affiliations, reflecting Tennessee’s deeply religious population, while others are secular liberal arts colleges.
