Vermont Job Outlook

In the tiny state of Vermont, there are only about two dozen operational colleges and universities, including public institutions, private schools, community colleges, and technical and art schools. Despite this small figure, Vermont’s post-secondary educational opportunities are rather diverse. The largest school in the state the University of Vermont, which is one only two public universities in the state. The smallest school is Sterling College, a private college with a special focus on environmental studies and a total enrollment of less than 100 students. Vermont is also home to Landmark College, the nation’s most expensive college, which serves students with learning disabilities.

College graduates in Vermont can expect to enter a career in one of the many industries that help to fuel the state’s economy. The main contributors to Vermont’s economy are insurance, tourism, quarrying, and agriculture, but there are also jobs available in government, education, and healthcare sectors.
